Učka

The Učka is a mountain range in the east of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, above the Kvarner Bay and close to Opatija and Rijeka. The highest peak is the Vojak at about 1,400 metres; other elevations include Suhi vrh, Plas and Mali Planik. Several viewpoints, including Kula na Učki and Vidikovac Stražica, open up views of the sea and islands in clear weather. Marked hiking trails such as numbers 600, 601 and 610 to 612 give access to the massif, which is partly protected as a nature park. Along the way you will also find castle ruins such as Kaštel Vranja, the Jama za greben cave, and small waterfalls near Mala Rečina.
