Fort Verudella

Fort Verudella is a coastal fortress on the Verudela peninsula near Pula in Istria. Austria built it at the end of the 19th century to protect the main harbour of its navy. The fort has a pentagonal plan with a two-storey barracks of natural stone, brick and concrete, embedded in the earthen rampart. Today the fort houses an aquarium.
