Ližnjan is a village shaped by farming and fishing, with a small sheltered harbour at the southern tip of Istria. It sits on a rise with views over Kvarner Bay as far as the islands of Cres and Lošinj. The municipality also includes Valtura, Muntić, Jadreški and Šišan.

The monument to the fighters of the People's Liberation Struggle and the victims of fascism is a sculpture group by the sculptor Vanja Radauš in Titov park, directly on the waterfront promenade in Pula.
