Stari Grad on the island of Hvar was founded by Greeks as Pharos in 384 BC and is one of the oldest towns in Europe. The Stari Grad Plain, whose ancient field layout survives to this day, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
About Dalmatia
Dalmatia has around 400 km of coast with countless islands offshore, one of the most indented coastlines in Europe.
