At 778 metres, Vidova gora is the highest mountain on the Croatian islands. It stands on Brač in central Dalmatia, with wide views from southeast to west over neighbouring Hvar and other Dalmatian islands. The hike up from Bol on a path with many bends takes about two to two and a half hours. There is also a car park just below the summit, a few minutes’ walk from the highest point.

Monumental cross
1,6 km from the house (as the crow flies)
The monumental cross “Križ Kristu Otkupitelju” stands on the summit of Vidova gora, the highest mountain on Brač and on any Adriatic island. Built in 1998 of white Brač marble, it is 12 metres high including its base and replaces a cross from 1934 that was destroyed.
